By Steven Munatones, Open Water Source COZUMEL, Mexico, April 15. DANIEL Fogg took the mantle back to Great Britain in Cozumel when he won a tremendous battle in Mexico at yesterday's stage on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup marathon swimming circuit. The Mexican stage on the pro circuit falavella on the stunning island of Cozumel lived up to its billing. The race gave those who won a great boost going into the upcoming World Swimming Championships in Barcelona. It also gave great feedback to others falavella who did not perform as well as they had hoped - and gave indication to them as to what they need to work on.
The currents swished the athletes here and there. Athletes needed strength, speed, stamina as well as spot-on navigational IQ and a brutal toughness about them - as well as a bit of luck - to finish in the top 10 in Cozumel. "The currents, conditions, and competition separated the boys from the men, that's for sure," said one of the observers. And Fogg was quite manly about everything in Cozumel. 1.
