The Egyptian government is considering raising the export duty on marble and granite by 33.3%
Cairo - Anatolia said a senior official in the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, said the Egyptian government is considering raising the fees imposed on the export of raw marble by 33.3% to reduce export and encourage manufacturing operations in the domestic market. The official said in a telephone conversation that the Economic Commission concerned with the development of the mineral wealth was considering a proposal to raise fees for 150 pounds ($ 21) on the raw marble blocks to 200 pounds ($ 30) in order to limit export.
